Tucked discreetly into the landscaped grounds of a private office estate in Johannesburg, this
single Padel court was designed as a high-end recreational retreat offering employees a place
to switch off, sweat it out, or socialize between meetings.
What was once an underutilized patch of grass is now a precision-built, glass-walled arena,
anchored by black steel framing and flanked by a soft AstroTurf surround. Every detail was
considered: from curved LED floodlights that cast soft pools of light for evening play, to the
clean brickwork apron that keeps movement fluid around the court’s edge.
Location: 19 West St, Houghton Estate, Johannesburg

Though compact in scale, the project delivers a big impact, showing how sport can be folded
into even the most corporate settings without feeling out of place. It’s quiet, sleek, and
unapologetically contemporary , a bold addition that adds vibrancy and value to the estate
without disturbing its calm.

We wear our heart on our sleeves and design for the next generation in South Africa and across the continent. We pride ourselves on projects that are culturally rooted, relevant and sustainable, adding value to the communities and neighbourhoods we touch. We build across scales and we’re as comfortable executing a home renovation or an experimental urban concept, as we are developing a warehouse, shopping center or safari lodge.
